In 1909, Ulrich Leysieffer and his wife Emilie opened a pastry shop. In 1936, they began to produce their own chocolate truffles. In 1950, the shop that had been destroyed during World War II was reopened by Karl and Ursula Leysieffer and the first chocolate truffles called “Himmlische" (Heavenly) were made.

In 1960, the company experienced an erratic expansion with the mail order business starting in 1964. In 1967, Axel Leysieffer came on board as a third generation member and in 1973 the business moved to today's production facility in Osnabrück-Atter.
